Instincts of Suffering

Instincts of SufferingInk on Tracing Paper 2014Artist Statement: This piece was drawn for the potential of being used as an album cover for my band Rebirth (which never eventuated). The idea behind the artwork was to reflect on man's causes of suffering through ignorance. The image reflects social, environmental and moral issues that are prevalent within today's society. The spear and hammer was chosen to be the Rebirth logo and was used as a motif throughout the bands life.

The Final Act of Defiance

The Final Act of Defiance Ink on Cartridge Paper 297 x 420mm2017 (Second image is edited, final poster)Artist Statement: This piece was drawn for the final Rebirth concert, marking the death of the band. I also included a burning chimney stack which is a reference to the Instinct of Suffering piece (see earlier works) which spawned the Rebirth X logo. The piece was then edited in photoshop to add in the red details before being printed on A1 posters which were given out at the concert.
