Always Anti-facist

Always Anti-facist Ink on cartridge Paper 210 x 297 mm2017Artist Statement: This piece was drawn for a band but they decided not to use it. The piece comments on the anti-facist struggle within Australia against the rise of nationalism and far right groups. This piece depicting a Antifa member in a cloud of tear gas. The antifa member holds a ripped flag that bears a Celtic Cross which is a known adopted neo-nazi symbol. The figure also holds a "Refugees Always Welcome" sign which comments on the volatile debate regarding Australia's Border Protection policies.

Make Racists Afraid Again Ink on Cartridge Paper210 x 297 mm2017 Artist Statement: This artwork was designed for the band DISPOSSESSED who are an all POC member, political hardcore/metal band set to decolonise the Australian music scene.  The design was used on a t-shirt (see second image). The image is a provocative image meant to challenge the idea of hate speech. It also lends visual references to the lynchings of black people in America  in the 20th century, the Salem witch trials and christian iconography. Together these create a commentary on the self-appointed "martyrdom" of far right patriots of Australia and a role reversal of white supremacists.
