TYRONNE GIETZMANN
Tyronne Gietzmann is an African-Australian artist based in Melbourne, Victoria (Wurundjeri Country).
Tyronne’s style is bold, dark and has a raw edge that aligns with his strong involvement with the DIY hardcore punk scene. A style influenced by his love of anime, horror, fantasy, science -fiction and interest in radical imagery. His art almost always captures and reflects dark, confronting and political themes with movement and emotion in each piece. Tyronne's work shines a light on the dark and ugly aspects of the world but always in a thought provoking manner. He believes that the responsibility of an artist is to highlight the uncomfortable truths and cast it into a medium so that people can reflect and interpret the subject matter in their own time and place. Art serves as a mirror to see the unknowns of ourselves and how we are shaped by our realities.
